99 Burning 99 Burning is a story I have been toying with for years, about a broken down old car salesman who is on the verge of losing his job, but sells a car to the devil, who promises him he will find success if only the salesman will give the devil his soul. Not believeing in "souls" or God or the devil, the salesman complies, and has the best month of any salesman ever, getting 99 sales, or 99 cars burning gas in one month. The 99 burning actually refers to 99 souls burning in hell. So it occurred to me that 99 burning should be 99 stories or poems about lost souls, selling out, being sold out, etc., and so that is the purpose of this contest; to finish the book so to speak.
